According to the visit schedule to the city of Astana, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in a meeting with leaders of Central Asian countries and heads of leading German companies and banks as reported here.

The event was attended by German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Representatives of leading companies and banks to the German business circles such as “KNAUF”, “Gunter Papenburg”, “CLAAS”, “Siemens Energy”, “Aurubis”, “Ernst Klett”, “Siemens Healthineers”, “Herrenknecht”, “DB Engineering & Consulting”, “Svevind Energy”, “Rhenus”, “HMS Bergbau” were present.

While welcoming the participants, President of Uzbekistan pleasantly noted the successful outcomes of the recent fruitful meeting with German businessmen in Samarkand.

The results of the negotiations demonstrated the growing interest of our countries' businessmen in deepening mutual cooperation, implementing joint projects based on Germany's advanced experience and innovative technological solutions.

The state leader specifically focused on the issues of further expanding partnership with Germany within the framework of regional cooperation.

It was emphasized that the Central Asian region today is a wide and rapidly growing market showcasing steady rates of economic development.

This has been facilitated by the opening of borders between the states, creating the necessary conditions for an increase in the exchange of goods, investments, freight volumes, and tourist flows within the region.

The state leader particularly highlighted the importance of enhancing the investment attractiveness of the Central Asia region.

From this perspective, the summit today proposed the establishment of a perpetual platform for mutually beneficial dialogue - the "Central Asia and Germany" Council of Investors and Entrepreneurs, and its first meeting to be held within the framework of the Tashkent Investment Forum next spring.

The head of our state also proposed preparing a "roadmap" for expanding investment and technological cooperation between Central Asian countries and Germany. This document could include mechanisms to support and incentivize investments by German companies and financial support for their activities in Central Asian countries.

Currently, with the help of joint investment funds and companies with regional partners, special economic zones and industrial "hubs" are being established, large-scale projects in industry, "green" energy, agriculture are being implemented, and infrastructure is being modernized.

To support such projects, leading engineering centers, investment and industrial enterprises of foreign countries are being actively involved.

The head of our state invited German companies to actively participate in implementing regional cooperation projects on mutually beneficial terms.

In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan expressed confidence that regular dialogues in this format with the heads of leading German companies and banks would open wide opportunities for mutually beneficial multilateral cooperation.
