“The President's decision on the priority measures for combating dust storms and improving the quality of atmospheric air” was adopted.
According to the decision, the conceptual foundations for establishing the Green Central Asia Fund and the Central Asian Climate Affairs Center will be developed in consultation with the Central Asian countries.
From 2023, the use of mazut as fuel in heating and power generating plants located in the city of Tashkent and adjacent areas of Tashkent region will be prohibited.
In more than 1,200 greenhouses in the districts adjacent to the city of Tashkent, dust-gas cleaning devices will be installed and a subsidy mechanism for the installation of such devices in greenhouse farms will be introduced, with the aim of reducing the negative environmental impact of coal fuel used.
In the years 2025–2030, a “green belt” and “green parks” will be established on a total of 441 hectares of land in the city of Tashkent and adjacent areas of Tashkent region.
From 2028, the use and sale of motor fuel below the “Euro – 4” environmental standard will be gradually restricted.
