President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is getting acquainted with the development of the Tashkent region, the life of the population, and new projects. Our state leader first visited the Tashkent district.
Previously, this area had no center. After new buildings and complexes were erected along Keles Road, the appearance of the area completely changed. In particular, this main street was expanded and rebuilt. On both sides of it, attractive facilities such as the State Services Center, Youth Center, Palace of Culture, amphitheater, universal sports complex, memorial square, and park were established.
In place of old, low-rise houses, 41 multi-story residential buildings were constructed. Now, more than 11,000 people live in 2,536 apartments. On the basement and first floors of these buildings, 270 branches for trade, general nutrition, household, and financial services are being organized. They will employ 1,350 people, including local youth and women.
The head of our state inspected these construction works.
The renovation project paid significant attention to social infrastructure. A central hospital, inter-district perinatal center, kindergarten, “Human” social services center, and district history museum were launched. Changes are not confined to the district center. Until recently, the area had drinking water problems. With the funds from the Asian Development Bank, 4 reservoirs were built and 365 kilometers of pipes were laid. As a result, the residents of 36 neighborhoods were provided with clean drinking water. Over the last three years, 218 kilometers of internal roads in the district were repaired and asphalted. Such works are continuing.
Here, in the Tashkent district, issues regarding the development of entrepreneurship, employment, and poverty alleviation were addressed by reporting officials. In the first 6 months of this year, the district's economy grew by 23 percent. New constructions and their enterprises increased the tax base. There are 70 neighborhoods and 62,000 families in the Tashkent district. Responsible measures have been identified to assist 372 families with difficult living conditions.
By the end of the year, within the scope of projects, employment, and entrepreneurship programs, it is planned to create 34,443 job positions.
The President gave instructions on uncovering household potentials and encouraging entrepreneurs to hire representatives of poor families.
- The Tashkent district is just near our capital. There are great opportunities here for housing, manufacturing, commerce, and service. If the work is organized properly, there cannot be poverty in this district. Therefore, it is necessary to move from poverty to prosperity by using the opportunities given to the economic complex and neighborhoods, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
By the end of the year, the industrial growth rate is expected to be 9 percent and the service sector 13 percent, thanks to the assimilation of nearly 53 million dollars of investments in the Tashkent district. The goal is to bring export volume to 100 million dollars.
