Muhammadreza Bakhoner, a member of Iran's Expediency Discernment Council, announced that the enforcement of the mandatory hijab law has been suspended in the country. This was reported by the "Free Iran" Telegram channel.

According to Bakhoner's emphasis, the hijab law project currently has no legal force and is not being implemented in practice. In his opinion, wearing the hijab is not legally mandatory, and no penalty or legal consequence has been stipulated for it. The police have also been informed about this.

This statement was made against the backdrop of long-standing social debates and discussions regarding the hijab issue in the country. For the first time in Iran's history, wearing the hijab has been recognized as a personal choice, and every woman can make a decision according to her own will.

This change is being assessed as a significant historical step in Iran's legal and social environment and further strengthens the principle of respecting personal freedom and choice.
