The club's name translates to "cotton grower" in Uzbek, reflecting the region's traditional economic sector, which is why the club's emblem has featured a cotton boll to this day.

When experts prepare football predictions before a match, Pakhtakor always remains among the favorites. Pakhtakor rightfully upholds its name as the "People's Team," as it has been a symbol of Uzbek football for nearly seventy years.

Club History

The club was founded on April 8, 1956, based on the Tashkent "Spartak," which had existed since 1937. This very day is considered Pakhtakor's birthday, with the team playing its first match against footballers from the city of Molotov (now Perm). In a short time, the club won the love of fans across Uzbekistan.

In 1959, the team was admitted to the Top League of the USSR Championship. That generation's squad included talented footballers of various nationalities: Uzbeks, Russians, Ukrainians, and representatives of other peoples of the Soviet Union. It was truly an international team that united the best players of the region.
