At the event held under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, as well as leaders of other states, governments, and international and regional organizations also participated.
In his speech, the President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality, noting that this auspicious date embodies Turkmenistan's consistent commitment to developing peaceful, reliable, friendly, and mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries of the world.
— Turkmenistan's neutrality, which has become an inseparable part of the modern identity of the Turkmen people, is based on its deep historical traditions, cultural and spiritual values, and noble qualities such as generosity, tolerance, and good neighborliness, said our President.
Therefore, Turkmenistan's initiative to establish a University of Peace and Neutrality in cooperation with the United Nations was supported.
The head of our state emphasized that openness to the world, mutual respect, and the aspiration for dialogue are fundamental values for New Uzbekistan. As confirmation of this, one can cite the advancement of the Samarkand Initiative on solidarity on the path to common security and prosperity. This initiative is aimed at engaging all parties who are not indifferent to the future of humanity and who strive for peace, harmony, and sustainable development.
Furthermore, during the period of our country's upcoming chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement, Uzbekistan aims to define as key priorities the encouragement of a global movement to support a culture of peace and non-violence, strengthening trust between states based on political dialogue, and contributing to the establishment of an atmosphere of tolerance, harmony, and solidarity in the world.
During the chairmanship, it is also planned to declare 2027 the Year of Preventive Diplomacy to support efforts in resolving conflicts in the interests of future generations. Within its framework, a program of events will be adopted, including organizing conferences and forums, and encompassing mutual exchanges of parliamentary, public, and youth delegations.
Our President emphasized that in the current conditions, where global tensions persist and trust between states is weakening, universal commitment to the principles of peacefulness and mediation is gaining ever more crucial importance. Precisely for this reason, Uzbekistan supported Turkmenistan's proposal to declare 2025 the "International Year of Peace and Trust" and became a co-sponsor of the relevant UN General Assembly resolution.
It was noted that the principles of mutual trust, respect, and good neighborliness are also the foundation of the policy to transform Central Asia into a space of peace, cooperation, and good neighborliness.
— The seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region held last month in Tashkent once again demonstrated our readiness for joint actions to strengthen harmony, ensure peace and stability in the region, and expand multifaceted economic cooperation, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
From this point of view, special emphasis was placed on the fact that Turkmenistan's constructive and peace-loving policy is considered an important factor in ensuring stability and development in Central Asia.
The head of our state expressed confidence that Turkmenistan's proposals, which embody noble ideas such as peace and trust, will occupy a worthy place on the agenda during its chairmanship in the format of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of the region in Ashgabat.
The leader of our country, emphasizing the importance of advancing humanitarian cooperation based on mutual respect, trust, and harmony, proposed organizing a joint international humanitarian forum "Dialogue of Cultures" in Tashkent next year and launching the regional program "Youth on the Path of Peace and Trust."
In conclusion, the head of our state emphasized Uzbekistan's readiness to continue making a practical contribution to establishing a just and stable world order.
