On January 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the signing ceremony of the Peace Summit Framework in Davos, Switzerland.
The event, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, was also attended by leaders, prime ministers, and foreign ministers from Argentina, Armenia, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Morocco, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Paraguay, Pakistan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Hungary, and other countries.
The establishment of the Peace Summit aligns with the initiatives of Uzbekistan's foreign policy in ensuring peace and its priority tasks aimed at supporting multifaceted cooperation. The new structure is being formed within the framework of implementing the comprehensive plan for ending the conflict in the Gaza sector, supported by a UN Security Council resolution.
The Peace Summit is aimed at reducing the risk of escalation of the conflict and creating favorable conditions for economic and social recovery in the Gaza sector. This creates the possibility of building a New Gaza with a prosperous economy and a peaceful life, and establishing a Palestinian state in the future.
Influential and prominent leaders from various countries around the world took their places in the composition of the Summit.
By signing the Summit Framework, Uzbekistan became one of its founding states. This signifies our country's readiness to consistently participate in the summit's activities and to make a practical contribution to the implementation of its mandate in close cooperation with all founding states and international partners.
