Donald Trump intends to lift restrictions imposed on the delivery of international humanitarian aid to North Korea. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

It is noted that the discussion is about removing the block on sanction exemptions for humanitarian cargoes in the UN Security Council's Sanctions Committee on North Korea. For several months, the US has expressed concern that humanitarian supplies could be misused and has been freezing the issuance of permits. According to the publication's information, Washington is now planning to cancel all restrictions, which will open the way for international aid.

It is emphasized that the decision is being made at a time when North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's ties with Russia and China are deepening. At the same time, the newspaper notes that the resumption of humanitarian aid does not signify an improvement in relations between Pyongyang and Washington.

According to WSJ information, in recent years, Kim Jong Un has not shown interest in dialogue with the US or South Korea, despite Trump's initiatives and the efforts of Lee Jae-myung, who was elected president of South Korea last year and is a proponent of improving inter-Korean relations.
