According to CNN, the US has also informed its political allies about this change in strategy. Trump has ordered the negotiation group, including Jared Kushner, Vice President J.D. Vance, and special envoy Steve Witkoff, not to have contact with Tehran.
According to sources, the decision was caused by Trump's dissatisfaction that the Iranian leadership is not ready to fulfill his demands. The US president wants Tehran to demonstrate its readiness for the agreement he is demanding before resuming negotiations.
CNN notes that this decision differs from Trump's previous statements that negotiations with Iran were going well and that there was an opportunity to reach a new agreement.
