A criminal group involved in the sale of psychoactive drugs in the valley regions was sentenced. The State Security Service press service reported on this.
It turns out that on January 30, 2024, during the departure of a Chortoq district ambulance paramedic from his residence in a “Cobalt” vehicle, the vehicle was stopped, and upon inspection with the participation of witnesses, it was discovered that there were 1000 pieces of the “Zodak” medication in the cabin for which he had no documents.
It is worth noting that the paramedic intended to send these medications for sale to the Andijan region. Furthermore, when his residence was inspected, a hidden workshop intended for the production of medications was discovered, and 763 pieces of “Anaferon”, 2125 pieces of “Zodak”, 4000 pieces of “Vitamin B6” medications, 570 unnamed bottles of syrups, bottles and caps used for medication packaging, medicine boxes, and instructions were formally seized, prepared for sale.
It should be emphasized that for the preparation and storage of medications, this individual engaged his sister born in 1977 as well as a relative born in 1974. During the operation, from the residence of his sister, as material evidence, 120 pieces of “Zodak”, 260 pieces of “Anaferon”, 96 pieces of “Hilak Forte”, and 313 unnamed bottles of syrup medications were seized.
Based on the situation, a criminal case was initiated, and the investigation revealed that the ambulance paramedic was provided with labels, bottles, caps, medicine boxes, and instructions necessary for preparing medications by a person born in 1991 and living in Andijan city.
Moreover, during the search and investigation carried out at the residence of a citizen living in Kokand city, born in 1986, who was involved in this crime, 150 pieces of “Zodak” and 146 pieces of “Hilak Forte” medications purchased from the ambulance paramedic were procedurally seized, totaling 27 million 646 thousand 800 Uzbek soms.
During the investigation, it was revealed that a student from a state higher educational institution in the medical field, born in 1994 and living in the Chortoq district, was also involved in the purchase and sale of home-made medications. It should be noted that the medications prepared in a secret workshop were mainly sold in Andijan and Kokand cities.
The Yaniqo'rg'on district court found these individuals guilty of committing crimes under Article 186 section 3 of the Criminal Code, sentencing the Chortoq district ambulance paramedic and the citizen providing him with raw materials from Andijan city to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment. The remaining four persons were each sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment.
“All the medications seized as material evidence were destroyed in accordance with the proper procedures,” the report says.
