Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, on August 27. The president's press service reported this.
The crucial issues of further strengthening the friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as expanding the multifaceted cooperation between the countries, were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, the national leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, conveyed greetings from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov, to the head of state.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan noted with great satisfaction the rapid development of bilateral relations. An active political dialogue and exchanges continue, trade volumes are growing at a steady pace, and the cooperation of leading enterprises in various sectors of the economy is strengthening.
Joint cultural-humanitarian events are being regularly held. During the conversation, special attention was given to advancing joint projects in the fields of transport-communication and energy.
