On September 10th, the meeting of the Senate Committee on Defense and Security preliminarily discussed the law "On Amendments and Additions to the Administrative Responsibility Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan". The law had been adopted by the Legislative Chamber on July 16th.

The law introduces a new norm related to timely informing the citizen about violations identified through photo and video recording devices and taking measures, into the Code on Administrative Responsibility.

It specifies that information about traffic rule violations must be sent to the Traffic Safety Service within 48 hours; otherwise, the driver will not be held administratively responsible.

The discussed law abolishes the requirement to present documents confirming the completion of urgent service tasks by emergency medical and fire-rescue vehicle units.

Additionally, administrative responsibility is being established for committing offenses while using scooters and individual mobility vehicles, including scooters, mopeds, bicycles, and also for managing horse-drawn carriages, as well as for drivers of individual mobility vehicles and scooters carrying people.

The law revokes the authority of road patrol service officers to impose an on-the-spot fine if they detect a traffic offense while on duty.

A relevant decision of the committee was made on the discussed issues.
