President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became acquainted with the technical regulation sector's activities and plans on October 10. The President's press service reported about this.
Our country has set high goals for increasing production and export capacity. In this regard, technical regulation, standardization, and metrology issues are of great importance. Therefore, based on the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 27 of this year, state governance in the field has been improved, and new tasks have been set.
Over recent years, 12 thousand standards had been approved. Since the beginning of the year, another 1,040 international standards have been adopted. With the aim of ensuring product safety and quality, 29 technical regulations have been developed. These are being delivered to industrial enterprises and entrepreneurs, assisting them in obtaining certificates.
The responsible persons provided information on the work done in the field, plans for the end of this year, and for the next year.
The leader of our state emphasized the necessity of an effective technical regulation system for entering foreign markets and set additional tasks.
Today, of the 269 laboratories in our country, only 64 are internationally recognized for their tests. As a result, entrepreneurs are forced to undergo additional testing to export their products.
Therefore, it was mentioned that it is necessary to increase the number of internationally recognized laboratories and establish 10 new laboratories in areas such as electrical engineering, construction materials, and machinery.
Uzbekistan is on its way to becoming a member of the World Trade Organization. It was emphasized that aligning the legislation in the field of technical regulation with the requirements of this organization is important.
This year, 340 national standards will be developed, and by the end of 2025, another 38 regulations will be issued. Digitization of the activities of 28 technical committees and laboratories is also important. For this purpose, the "Technical Regulation" electronic platform will be launched.
To ensure quality and efficiency in the field, specialists with modern knowledge and skills, who work based on international standards, are required. Therefore, an order was given to improve the system of training personnel in the field.
