Within the framework of the COP29 summit taking place in Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb. The Presidential press service reported this.
Issues of developing multifaceted Uzbekistan-Finland cooperation were considered. The active political and inter-parliamentary relations were noted with satisfaction.
A proposal was made to prepare a program for developing industrial cooperation in metallurgy, electrical engineering, chemistry, telecommunications, and other sectors to shape the new economic agenda.
In this sense, the importance of thorough preparation for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the business forum to be held in Helsinki in January 2025 was emphasized.
Strengthening exchanges in education and ecology, including the active participation of Finland in the activities of the UN Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region, was given special attention.
The plan for the upcoming high-level meetings was reviewed.
