A new Ambassador has been appointed to the Embassy of Malta in Uzbekistan.

An agreement was signed to implement a mutual visa-free regime for diplomatic passport holders between the two countries.

Malta's first Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Carmelo Inguanez, presented his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. This was announced by Bakhtiyor Saidov on his social media page.

The meeting discussed strengthening the legal bases of bilateral relations, establishing friendship groups between parliaments, developing economic cooperation, supporting tourism, accelerating relations in the field of education, and other directions aimed at enhancing the relations between the parties.

Additionally, an agreement was signed between the ambassador and the minister on the establishment of a visa-free regime for diplomatic passport holders.
