By the end of 2024, the average monthly wage in Uzbekistan increased by 17.4 percent, reaching 5,357.2 thousand UZS. This was reported by stat.uz here.
During the reporting period, the highest average monthly wage among the types of economic activity – in the fields of banking, insurance, leasing, credit, and brokerage activities, amounted to 15,263.7 thousand UZS.
Additionally, the information and communication sector reached 13,157.4 thousand UZS, the transportation and storage sector 8,113.3 thousand UZS, and the industrial sector 6,439.9 thousand UZS, which are higher than the average monthly wage.
Education (3,637.0 thousand UZS) and health care and social services (3,411.0 thousand UZS) sectors, on the other hand, are at the lowest levels compared to other sectors.
In the main branches of the education sector, the highest average monthly wage was observed in higher education (8,562.1 thousand UZS), and the lowest in preschool education (1,963.3 thousand UZS).
The highest average monthly wage in the education sector was observed in Tashkent city (6,091.2 thousand UZS), Namangan (3,591.6 thousand UZS), and Tashkent region (3,591.2 thousand UZS). High growth rates were recorded in Tashkent city (119.5 percent) and Namangan region (117.3 percent).
If we look at the dynamics of changes in the average monthly wage by types of economic activities from 2020 to 2024, education and health care, and social services sectors have formed significantly below the average wage indicator, from 2020 (with an average wage of 2,673.3 thousand UZS) to 2024 (average wage of 5,357.2 thousand UZS), respectively reaching 3,637.0 thousand UZS and 3,411.0 thousand UZS, that’s all.
