From April 15 to May 15, the rapid preventive measures called "Safe and Healthy Homeland" were carried out across Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs press service reported this.

The measures included identifying individuals negatively affecting the criminal situation in the republic, restricting their activities, preventing crimes in advance to ensure the public peace, and also included measures to combat the illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic and strong substances.

As reported, the actions taken during the month led to a 25.6 percent decrease in crimes and disorderly conduct in public places.

  • During the measures, more than 17,000 individuals carrying bladed weapons were identified, and 17,360 such items were confiscated from them.
  • 55,329 citizens who left their automobiles, bicycles, and wheelchairs unattended were educated and warned.
  • The activity of 87,704 guards of various organizations were inspected, and proposals were made regarding the identified deficiencies.
  • More than 100 fugitives who committed crimes and were hiding from judicial and investigation authorities, as well as over 10,000 individuals who committed minor hooliganism, were identified and measures were taken against them.
  • Extensive promotional work on "crimes and their consequences" was conducted in more than 10,000 secondary schools, vocational schools, and academic lyceums.

As emphasized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service, as a result of the preventive measures taken, crimes that could be prevented decreased by 36 percent, and crimes committed by minors decreased by 20 percent.

The Traffic Safety Service identified over 590,000 violations of traffic rules. Over 67,000 vehicles were placed in penalty parking lots.

More than 3,000 drivers were found driving under the influence, and over 1,900 drivers refused to comply with the lawful demands of law enforcement officers.

Additionally, more than 48,000 citizens were found driving vehicles without proper documentation, and over 700 drivers installed illegal devices such as sirens and flashing lights.

Also, Traffic Safety Service officers conducted more than 113,000 promotional events and over 40,000 preventive conversations during the month, and more than 126,000 brochures were distributed among drivers.

Rapid reaction teams of the security divisions responded to 950 "distress" signals, preventing public order violations at the protected objects. A total of 1837 administrative offenses were identified.

In collaboration with healthcare specialists, measures aimed at ensuring public health resulted in 11,906 citizens being subject to compulsory treatment, 37,000 citizens to detox centers, 2,232 minors to centers, and 571 citizens to rehabilitation centers with medical-psychological assistance provided.

During the month, a total of 334 kg 266 gr of narcotics, 68,429 pieces of potent medications were seized from illegal circulation, and it was discovered that 91,493 plants containing narcotic substances were being cultivated. Specifically, 640 gr of heroin, 124 kg 371 gr of opium, 94 kg 759 gr of hashish, 52 kg 26 gr of marijuana, 39 kg 548 gr of poppy, and 22 kg 899 gr of synthetic narcotics were prevented from illegal circulation.

During the measures, 113 pneumatic weapons, 99 hunting weapons, 1021 cartridges, 2452 bladed weapons were confiscated from arrested individuals and criminal groups. 880 fugitives who were hiding from investigative and judicial authorities were arrested. 383 missing persons were found.
