Another citizen of Uzbekistan, who participated in hostilities and was accused of mercenary activities, was punished.

According to case materials, the 25-year-old defendant went to Russia in 2021 in search of work. In February 2022, his relative offered him an "easy" job with good pay. For this purpose, they traveled from Moscow to Tula. During document checks and a personal search on the way, heroin was found on his relative. Although nothing was found on the defendant, he was also declared guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

While in the colony, the institution's staff regularly offered him 1.8 million rubles and citizenship for participating in combat operations. Unable to withstand the pressure, in October 2024, he signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. In January 2025, during combat operations near the city of Toretsk in Donetsk region, he was injured by grenade fragments.

He was taken to a hospital in Donetsk. After some time, while being transferred to another medical facility, he escaped. Upon reaching Moscow, he went to the Uzbek embassy and requested assistance to return home.

After returning to the country, he voluntarily contacted the internal affairs authorities and informed them of his participation in combat operations.

The Kattakurgan District Court on Criminal Cases found citizen M.K. guilty under Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. He was sentenced to 4 years of restricted freedom.
