A criminal case has been initiated over the beating of Uzbek migrants by several youths in the Russian city of Vladivostok. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee's directorate for the Primorsky Krai.
Videos have spread on social networks showing Russian teenagers beating up migrants, laughing at them, and insulting them. Yusuf Kabolzhanov, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, reported that contact had been established with the affected citizens as soon as the situation was identified and legal assistance was provided. He also stated that an official application had been sent to the Vladivostok Internal Affairs Directorate and notes had been sent to the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's Office on the necessity to take all appropriate measures regarding this issue.
According to information from the Russian Investigative Committee's directorate for the Primorsky Krai, the hooliganism occurred on the night of September 10th on Khabarovskaya Street in Vladivostok. Following this, a criminal case was initiated against a 15-year-old teenager and other participants in the crime.
While under the influence of alcohol, they damaged a parked car for no reason and sprayed an aerosol can into its interior. They then attacked the driver of a delivery truck who had come to the store to bring products. They burst into the store and, in front of customers and the cashier, beat one man. After that, they also attacked a taxi driver and a passenger in the cab.
The suspects have been identified; one of them has been detained, and two others have been put on the wanted list. A criminal case had previously been initiated against the teenagers for hooliganism.
Earlier in September, a video spread on social networks showing a Russian citizen insulting an Uzbek migrant, saying "you are a slave of the Russians." A note was also sent to Russian law enforcement agencies regarding this incident.
