In the direction of combating corruption, an urgent operation was conducted by employees of the State Security Service in cooperation with the Personal Security Department of the Customs Committee and the Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office. The Information Service of the SSS reported this.
According to the report, an inspector of the "Navoi" border customs post of the Tashkent Region Customs Department, abusing his official position, was caught red-handed while receiving 5 thousand US dollars in the city of Chirchik in exchange for facilitating the illegal transit across the border post, without declaration and bypassing customs control, of 7 kg of gold precious metals belonging to a citizen born in 1979, residing in the Tashkent district.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the customs officer under Part 2, paragraph "v" of Article 210 of the Criminal Code, and the preventive measure of "detention" has been applied.
In another case registered in Tashkent city, the branch chief inspector of the Shaykhontokhur District State Tax Inspectorate, abusing his official position, demanded 2500 US dollars in exchange for terminating the activities of a small business enterprise engaged in wholesale food trade through his acquaintances in high positions.
During an urgent operation conducted by employees of the State Security Service Directorate for the city of Tashkent in cooperation with the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, he was caught red-handed while receiving the requested amount of money in front of the building of the district tax inspectorate.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the chief inspector under Part 3, paragraph "v" of Article 168 and Article 211 Part 1 with Article 28 of the Criminal Code.
In another case, an inspector of the Department of Inspectors for Neighborhoods of the Mirabad District Tax Inspectorate, abusing his official position, was stopped in his illegal actions while transferring 10 million soums to his bank plastic card in exchange for not conducting tax audits at a trade store operating in his assigned territory and for providing advance notice of any future tax audits.
It is reported that now this inspector will also be held accountable before the law.
