Today, on November 21, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Head of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, who visited our country to participate in the next meeting of the heads of foreign policy agencies' strategic dialogue. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
It was noted that during the meeting, practical aspects of further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China in all conditions and expanding multifaceted cooperation were considered.
Prior to the meeting, the Chinese Foreign Minister conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes from Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, to the leader of our country.
It was noted with particular satisfaction that, thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the heads of state, bilateral relations have been elevated to an unprecedented high level.
"Last year, the trade turnover reached $14 billion, the number of joint ventures amounted to almost 5,000, and since the beginning of this year, investments worth about $15 billion from China have been utilized. The portfolio of technological partnership projects has approached $90 billion," the report stated.
Special attention was paid to advancing cooperation in high technologies, "green" and nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, transport, infrastructure, agriculture, geology, chemistry, and other areas.
Contacts at all levels have intensified, the regions of the two countries are cooperating effectively, and meaningful exchanges in education and cultural-humanitarian spheres are continuing.
The leader of Uzbekistan emphasized the need for thorough preparation for upcoming high-level events and enriching bilateral cooperation with new practical content.
The importance of actively implementing the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway construction project and linking it with other transport corridors was noted.
Special attention was paid to coordinating efforts on issues of socio-economic recovery and security in Afghanistan. The necessity of continuing close political dialogue and cooperation in multilateral formats, supporting contacts between higher education institutions, combating poverty, and advancing joint projects in tourism and other fields was emphasized.
Confidence was expressed in the successful holding of the upcoming Days of Chinese Culture in Uzbekistan at the end of November this year.
Views were also exchanged on issues on the international and regional agenda.
