The Seoul Central District Court of South Korea sentenced former President Yoon Suk Yeol to five years in prison in December 2024 for obstructing the process of arrest and the declaration of a state of emergency. This is considered the first court ruling in his case.

It is reported that the prosecution had requested a total of 10 years in prison for the former head of state. Yoon Suk Yeol was brought to court on eight charges, and the next court hearing on the charge of organizing a rebellion is scheduled for February 19, 2026.
