President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the "Tomorka School" in Termiz district during his visit to Surkhandarya region.

Our head of state first familiarized himself with the presentation of localized machinery and equipment in water management.

It was emphasized that producing water-saving technologies and modern irrigation systems locally can reduce costs, ensure rational use of water resources under climate change conditions, and quickly meet the demands of farmers and the population.

Our President stressed the need to pay even more attention to this direction and strengthen scientific cooperation in this area.

The "Tomorka School" specializes in teaching the population how to effectively use their plots, introduce high-yield crop varieties, and modern methods of processing, storing, and marketing products. The institution operates with the financial support of banks.

Most importantly, it helps unemployed and low-income families gain a stable source of income. In this process, the scientific foundations of agriculture, technologies for producing high-income products, and modern horticultural methods are taught practically.

The innovative school covers the districts of Termiz, Muzrabot, Kizirik, Bandikhon, Angor, and Jarkurgan. It includes an educational building, a three-hectare greenhouse, and a three-hectare training-experimental field.

The greenhouse cultivates crops adapted to Surkhandarya conditions, such as bananas, papaya, rosemary, lavender, lemon, figs, broccoli, bell peppers, and others. Additionally, nursery and floriculture have been established, and a drip irrigation system has been implemented.

The school teaches the practice of obtaining three harvests per year under Surkhandarya conditions. Scientists, specialists, and experienced farmers are involved in the educational process.

To date, nearly 1,300 members of unemployed and low-income families have completed special courses and become self-employed by effectively using their own plots or leased land. Hokim assistants are directing about 220, and up to 2,700 per year, plot and leaseholders to study monthly. Tuition costs for listeners are covered through a referral or voucher system.

Course participants are shown in practice the methodology for planting high-income crops and earning an average of 10-15 million soums per hectare. "Agrostar" companies provide listeners with seeds and seedlings and organize the purchase of the products grown.

Our head of state familiarized himself with the presentation of the practice of triple harvesting from plots, industrialized orchards, and water-saving technologies at the school. He communicated with entrepreneurs engaged in processing and exporting fruits and vegetables, emphasizing the importance of processing and value addition, and mastering the cultivation of plants new to the region, including citrus and tropical fruits.
