The State Security Service has reminded that, in accordance with current legislation, persons who voluntarily hand over firearms, ammunition, and explosives to law enforcement authorities are exempt from liability.

In Tashkent city, two citizens voluntarily handed over firearms and ammunition belonging to their deceased relatives to law enforcement agencies. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, within the framework of the second stage of the comprehensive operational-preventive measures "Safe and Healthy Homeland" being conducted across the republic since July 1 of this year, operational-search activities are being carried out against the illegal circulation of firearms.

In particular, a citizen born in 1981, residing in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent city, voluntarily handed over to law enforcement agencies 1 rifle, 19 hunting weapons, 13 weapon barrels and receivers, 117 rounds of ammunition, and other spare parts found in the household where his deceased father lived separately.

Additionally, in another event conducted in cooperation with the State Security Service and the Tashkent City Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a woman born in 1960, residing in the Mirabad district, voluntarily handed over 2 hunting weapons and 181 rounds of ammunition belonging to her deceased spouse.

The State Security Service reminded that, in accordance with current legislation, persons who voluntarily hand over firearms, ammunition, and explosive substances to law enforcement agencies are exempt from liability.
