In Uzbekistan, although the total foreign trade volume showed growth in the first quarter of this year, a decline in export indicators was recorded.
According to official statistics, the country's foreign trade turnover reached $18 billion in January–March. This represents an increase compared to the same period last year. However, the export volume was around $5.8 billion, marking a decrease of 29.3 percent.
At the same time, the import volume increased significantly, reaching $12 billion 213.8 million US dollars. This is a 30.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Goods and services were imported from over 140 countries, with China (32.5 percent), Russia (18.3 percent), and Kazakhstan (8.4 percent) being the main import sources. This accounts for more than 70 percent of total imports, indicating high demand for imported products in the domestic market.
China, Russia, and Kazakhstan have maintained their leading positions as the main trade partners in foreign trade. Trade turnover with these countries constitutes a significant portion of the total import and export flow.
