Nearly 1 kilogram of cannabis oil and mushrooms containing a psychoactive substance were detected among cargo brought from Bangkok at Tashkent International Airport. In another case, about 13,000 coffee products containing sibutramine were confiscated.
An operational measure was conducted at Tashkent International Airport by employees of the State Security Service and Customs authorities in cooperation.
During it, the luggage of a citizen who arrived on the “Bangkok – Tashkent” route was inspected using an X-ray machine. During the inspection, suspicious food products were found among the luggage and they were opened and examined.
It was revealed that a citizen born in 2002, a resident of O’rta Chirchik district of Tashkent region, previously convicted, had brought in 978 grams of cannabis oil under the guise of various food products, as well as mushrooms containing a psychoactive substance with a total weight of approximately 500 grams. It was established that he planned to sell these products in the future.
Another case was registered in the territory of Tashkent district. Here, a car of the “Damas” brand was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses.
During the inspection, it was found that two citizens, residents of Oltiariq and Uchko’prik districts of Fergana region, born in 1987 and 1989, who were traveling as passengers in the car, had 12,992 coffee products containing the potent substance “Sibutramine” in their plastic bags.
According to preliminary data, they planned to sell these products, brought from a neighboring republic, in Fergana region.
Criminal cases have been initiated against the citizens in connection with both cases. Currently, investigative actions are being carried out.
