In the Tashkent region, a Cobalt driver forced a Spark car off the road. As a result, the Spark hit a roadside barrier and overturned. People died in the traffic accident.
The incident occurred on August 15 at around 09:30 on the "Qorasuv — Bo'ka — Bekobod" highway. This was reported by Bobur Tulaganov, press secretary of the head of the Tashkent region Main Department of Internal Affairs.
Videos distributed on social media showed a Cobalt and a Spark traveling in the same direction. The footage shows the Cobalt driver forcing the Spark off the road.
After that, the Spark driver lost control, crashed into a roadside barrier, and the car overturned.
After the traffic accident, the Cobalt driver left the scene. Since the car's license plate was not clearly visible in the video, search efforts were launched to identify the driver.
However, on the same day, the identity of the Cobalt driver — 30-year-old X. A. — was determined.
A criminal case was opened under point "a" of part 3 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code.
According to this provision, if a violation of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules results in the death of people, the offender may be deprived of certain rights and imprisoned for up to ten years.
