In Japan's Tochigi Prefecture, a high-speed train struck four workers working on the railway. All of them died as a result of the incident.
The incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. on August 20 near Shin-Kanuma Station in Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture. According to reports, seven workers were clearing weeds on the railway tracks.
At that time, a Spacia X2 limited express train heading from Tobu Nikko Station toward Tobu Asakusa Station in Tokyo hit the workers.
Four men in their 50s and 60s were found at various locations and taken to hospital. However, all of them were confirmed dead.
The train had approximately 50 passengers. No injuries were reported among them.
After the incident, train services between some stations were temporarily suspended. Service resumed at 15:22.
