In the Khorezm region, since the beginning of the year, the poverty rate has been reduced from 6.7 percent to 3.9 percent. This was reported at a presentation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on ensuring employment, increasing incomes, and reducing poverty.
It was noted that since the beginning of the year, the official income and material condition of 127 thousand people in 29 thousand families have improved, and they have been lifted out of poverty.
Currently, there are 39 thousand unemployed citizens in the region. Another 102 thousand people are in labor migration.
Although there are more than 50 thousand vacant jobs in Khorezm, some of them remain unfilled due to a lack of personnel with the necessary qualifications.
By the end of the year, it is planned to lift another 81 thousand people from 18 thousand low-income families out of poverty and provide 39 thousand unemployed citizens with permanent employment.
For this, new projects will be implemented in industry, services, tourism, transport, agriculture, and construction. 250 new enterprises will be established, and 2.5 thousand micro-projects will be realized.
The President emphasized the need for an individual approach to each person and providing suitable employment based on their capabilities.
