President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This was reported by the presidential press service.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the leader of Kazakhstan on the successful holding of elections to the unicameral Kurultai for the first time in the country's history.
Confidence was expressed that the new Kurultai will further advance consistent reforms in Kazakhstan, effectively ensure broad-scale changes legislatively, and give new impetus to the country's sustainable development.
During the conversation, it was noted with satisfaction that strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are developing rapidly.
The parties discussed issues of further increasing mutual trade volume, developing industrial cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, and expanding transport and logistics links.
It was also emphasized that it is important to create new opportunities for activating business ties between the regions of the two countries.
