Individuals who organized a gambling house at their residence in Tashkent have been detained.

In the Yakkasaray district, 12 foreign nationals and 18 Uzbek citizens were detained for running online gambling games in a rented house.

Citizens who organized an illegal gambling den in their home in Tashkent city were detained. The city's Internal Affairs Department reported this.

It is noted that a rapid action was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Internal Affairs and other law enforcement agencies in the Yakkasaroy district. Based on the prompt information received, a house in the district, rented by foreign citizens and inspected with witnesses, was found to be hosting online gambling games based on risk.

During the rapid action, as physical evidence, 37 laptops, money amounting to 1,400 USD, 34 SIM cards, 7 phones, and 12 bank cards were officially seized. The investigation revealed that over a period of 3 months, 900 thousand USD was circulated in this gambling den. As suspects, 12 foreign and 18 Uzbek citizens were detained.

“A criminal case has been initiated under Article 278, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (Organizing and conducting gambling and other games based on risk), and pre-trial detention has been applied as a measure of restraint against the accused,” the report says.
