The chief accountant and his deputy were caught attempting to take a "kickback" in exchange for budget funds. This was reported by the State Tax Committee's information service to Darakchi.uz.
According to the report, the chief accountant of the Olot District Medical Association entered into a contract with an LLC engaged in the production of non-woven products outside clothing in the Romitan District to purchase 400 bed sheets for the association's needs. The chief accountant and his deputy colluded to inflate the price in the contract, indicating each sheet at 190,000 soums instead of 90,000 soums, thereby increasing the total cost to 76 million soums.
They demanded a 40 million soum "kickback" from the LLC's executive for the overcharged amount.
During a rapid operation conducted by the State Tax Committee's Bukhara Regional Directorate and the Anti-Corruption Department, they were caught red-handed after having already received 32 million soums, with material evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated against the official and his assistant under Part 2, clauses "v, g" of Article 25,167 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
