In Uzbekistan in 2023, individuals deprived of their driving licenses were involved in 707 road traffic accidents. As a result, 212 people died. This was announced during a conversation between the Chairman of the Senate's Committee on Defense and Security Affairs, Qutbidin Burhanov, and Sherzod Ibragimov, who was appointed as the head of the Road Traffic Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Public Safety Department in July 2024, according to reports.

According to the senator, in the first half of 2024, individuals who have legally studied and possess a driver's license committed more than 10.2 million violations nationwide.

In 2023, individuals deprived of the right to drive, without having a permit, took the wheel again. As a result, they were involved in 707 road traffic accidents. In these accidents, 212 people died. Additionally, 546 individuals suffered injuries of varying degrees.

Those deprived of driving rights constitute only 0.3 percent of all drivers. However, the accidents they caused accounted for 11 percent of all traffic accidents that occurred.
