In the January-July period of 2024, a total of 4.2 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. The Statistics Agency reported this.
According to the data, this figure has increased by 562,500 people, or 15.3 percent, compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, the countries with the highest number of visitors to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes were – Kyrgyzstan (1.2 million people), Tajikistan (1.2 million people), Kazakhstan (845,8 thousand people), Russia (442,1 thousand people) and Turkmenistan (83,7 thousand people).
Similarly, tourists from Turkey (62 thousand), China (35.5 thousand), India (33.3 thousand), South Korea (23.9 thousand), and Italy (19.5 thousand) as well as other countries (211.2 thousand) have visited for the same purposes.
