In recent years, effective measures have been implemented in our country to widely promote a healthy lifestyle among the population. Especially, the pressing issue – the spread and consumption of tobacco products, which directly affects human health, societal, and the state's socio-economic potential, is being addressed through systematic efforts.

In this regard, the proposals put forward in the pre-election program of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan are of practical importance in every aspect. In particular, our party's initiative to ban the sale of tobacco products to individuals born after January 1, 2009, starting from 2030 can be considered a crucial step towards the health of future generations.

According to the World Health Organization, around the world, 37 million boys and girls aged 13-15 consume tobacco in one form or another. In the European region, 11.5 percent of boys and 10.1 percent of girls (totalling 4 million youngsters) smoke. Experts predict that by 2050, smoking could cause 450 million people globally to lose their lives.

For this reason, countries around the world have developed special programs aimed at supporting efforts to limit tobacco products, targeted at the youth. For example, New Zealand has banned the sale of tobacco products to individuals born on or after January 1, 2009, and prescribed fines for violations.

Advocates of a healthy lifestyle, politicians, and activists in the fight against tobacco are bringing this issue to the discussion platform. Political parties are incorporating it into their action programs.

Government efforts are being called upon to protect the youth from various deceptions of the tobacco industry.

Thus, by supporting our party's proposal, we contribute to protecting the health of the population, primarily the youth, from negative consequences and establishing a healthy lifestyle in society.
