The ongoing Iran-Israel conflict remains a significant issue of concern for the international community. The military confrontations, which started with missile strikes by Israel on Iran's territory on July 13, 2025, are increasingly becoming more severe. The involvement of the USA on June 22, and its air strikes on Iran's territory, have been met with serious concern by various international organizations.
In response to these events, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Uzbekistan distributed a special statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran vehemently condemns the US military aggression against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, which blatantly violates the UN Charter and international norms, and holds the US government responsible and accountable for the exceedingly dangerous consequences of this crime.
“The military aggression by the US against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a UN member state, in criminal collaboration with the Israeli regime, once again exposes the depravity of this governing class, as well as the US government's deep animosity and hatred towards the peace-loving and independence-seeking people of Iran, - says the statement. - The Islamic Republic of Iran considers it its legitimate right to strongly resist the US military aggression and crimes committed by this regime, and to protect the national interests of the country”.
According to the statement, the US military aggression on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities not only grossly violates principles such as "non-aggression, respect for territorial integrity and national sovereignty" as envisioned in Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter, but it is also utterly contrary to the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and the requirements of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Regrettably, this crime is being committed by a permanent member of the UN Security Council - the USA.
The Islamic Republic of Iran calls upon the UN, Security Council, Secretary-General, International Atomic Energy Agency, and other relevant international organizations to urgently take strong action against this crime, warning that silence in the face of this overt act of aggression exposes the world to unprecedented and extensive danger.
As one of the founding members of the UN, the Islamic Republic of Iran expects an impartial stance from the organization and all its members against this blatant violation of the law by the US, and demands an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to strongly condemn the US military aggression against Iran and to take measures against this country for grossly violating international principles and standards.
“The international community must not forget that the US has betrayed diplomacy in the process of diplomatic negotiations, supported the military aggression of the genocidal Israeli regime that operates in violation of international law, and now it itself has started a dangerous war against Iran as a partner to the Zionist regime, - concludes the statement.
