President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Olmaliq in the Tashkent region on October 15.
The foundation and driver of this city is the Olmaliq Mining and Metallurgical Combine. The economy, jobs, housing, culture, and educational institutions have all been established based on this complex.
Today, consistent growth and keeping up with the times are necessary. Our state leader demands that every sector be developed based on science.
In Olmaliq, the training of personnel is carried out in this manner. Specifically, branches of Tashkent State Technical University and the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys have been opened in the city. Recently, the Engineering School of the Olmaliq Mining and Metallurgical Combine was established as an addition.
The President first got acquainted with the activities of this school.
Here, based on the German experience, 480 engineers are trained annually, and the skills of a thousand employees are enhanced. The teaching processes are conducted in collaboration with foreign professors and teachers, based on the direction and topics.
The curriculum is developed based on the advanced educational methodologies of the Freiberg Mining Academy, "GP Günter Papenburg AG," and "Aurubis AG" companies. Accordingly, the school is equipped with modern training and practical equipment for mechanics, metallurgy, production automation, mineral processing, and energy sectors.
The leader of our state visited these rooms and talked with the young people who are learning there.
"Times are changing, innovations are entering every sector. To be a competent specialist in this environment, you need to constantly work on yourself. The future of the combine is in digitalization. Every department, every stage of production, needs to be digitalized," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A third copper enrichment factory is being built at the Olmaliq Mining and Metallurgical Combine. Specialists who will work there in the future are being prepared from now.
In a short time, more than 100 young people have studied here and found employment in the sector's enterprises.
Our President emphasized the need to further increase the school's efficiency. For this, courses must be organized regularly, and most importantly, be closely linked with practical experience.
A video selector meeting on engineering personnel training and further improvement of the activities of higher education institutions was held on June 20 this year. It was decided to establish ten leading engineering schools in the first phase.
Such schools are being established today. To strengthen the "sector - enterprise - university" chain, each of them is assigned an industrial partner.
Engineering schools will be established within higher education institutions in leading directions. They will provide in-depth knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering graphics, computer science, and foreign languages. Bachelor and master's degrees will be implemented in a 4+1 format. Starting from the second year, students will be selectively guided into specializations to train targeted personnel for industrial partners.
The professors and teachers of these schools will be sent to leading foreign institutions for advanced training at the expense of the "El-yurt umidi" foundation, relevant partners, and university funds. Based on the development of the sector, industrial partners will establish modern laboratories.
