In Uzbekistan, over the last seven years, the composition of management personnel has significantly rejuvenated, with the proportion of leaders under 40 years of age increasing from 37 percent to 65 percent. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reported this today, June 30, during a meeting with youth.

“In the New Uzbekistan, we rely on talented, dedicated, and leadership-capable young men and women like you to implement the principle of a “state serving the people.”

For this reason, last month I signed an important decree on preparing promising cadres and involving them in state management.

Now, every year, the Academy of Public Administration will train 100 talented young people as part of the “Future Leaders” program,” said the President.

These youths will be assigned to ministers and governors, spending two months alongside them to gain experience. They will be sent abroad for a one-month internship.

After completing the program, the young participants will become primary candidates for leadership positions.

Also, currently 1 million youths are working in the fields of mining, agro-industry, textile, chemistry, electrical engineering, and construction materials. Now, a system will also be created for the professional development of youths employed in the industries of industry, services, entrepreneurship, and agriculture. Republican competitions will be held for each professional direction among the youth. In these, representatives from state enterprises and the private sector will participate equally.

Sector leaders will annually select 100 young individuals from their areas for foreign internships. For this purpose, each sector will allocate 10 billion Uzbek som. These funds will be deducted from the tax base.

In addition, two separate programs were adopted for engaging school graduates who failed to enter higher education institutions, as well as students graduating from technical schools and universities. For this purpose, Aloqabank and the National Bank were allocated 300 million dollars. They will be responsible for providing 100,000 youths within the “Youth Business” program, and 140,000 university graduates through the “Step into the Future” program with profitable employment.

The Ministry of Employment, together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Bank, will launch a platform connecting graduates of universities, technical schools, and vocational education with employers. The Ministries of Employment, Education, and Higher Education will create an “Earning through Activity” electronic system to engage 3 million young people in non-skilled jobs during holidays. Every year, a “My Profession” national competition will be held with the aim of encouraging and aiding high school students in choosing a profession.
