On October 13-14, the city of Khiva hosted the 1st International Hot Air Balloon Festival at the Ichan-Kala complex under the slogan “Clear Skies” took place

A German female pilot, Ellie Danington, flew over Khiva and updated her world record. Uzbekistan became the 118th country Ellie Danington has flown in.

Aeronaut sportsmen from Brazil, Germany, Kazakhstan, and Russia also ascended into the skies of Khiva from the Ichan-Kala complex.

The Uzbekistan government aims to create new opportunities for women in the country. In this context, Ellie Danington is planning to open a school for female pilots, which will pave the way for flying. The festival is expected to give a new impulse to developing aeronautics as a distinct tourism and leisure direction, as well as diversifying services for tourists.

The festival guests were amazed by the hospitality of Uzbekistan, which was evident everywhere. They emphasized the comfortable and cozy atmosphere created by the genuine hospitality and kind attitude of the local population. Participants were not only amazed by the traditional hospitality but also by the diversity of Uzbekistan's unique cultural customs.

Next year, it is planned to hold a series of “Clear Skies” festivals, which will demonstrate the bright example of Uzbekistan's hospitality. These events will showcase the country's unique culture and traditions, as well as create a platform for international communication and exchange of experience among aeronauts and hot air balloon enthusiasts.
