Yesterday, on July 6th in the evening, major Russian airports experienced severe flight disruptions. In Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Nizhny Novgorod, a total of 393 flights were canceled or delayed.
At Sheremetyevo, 171 flights were canceled, 56 of which are delayed for more than two hours. From 18:00 to 21:00, 76 flights were scheduled to depart. Currently, 15,000 passengers are waiting in line at the terminal.
Pulkovo (Saint Petersburg): 90 flights were canceled, 37 are delayed.
Nizhny Novgorod: 26 flights were canceled, 13 are delayed. This airport experienced the highest number of disruptions.
The Russian Ministry of Transport described the situation as "manageable" and emphasized that the aviation system is resilient to "external interventions".
