The Central Bank applied penalties to seven banks in October.

In the meetings held in October by the Central Bank's Banking Supervision Committee, 32 issues were reviewed.

The Central Bank's Bank Control Committee reviewed 32 issues at its October meetings and adopted appropriate decisions. The Press Service of the Central Bank reported this.

It was reported that 16 issues were reviewed in the registration and permitting direction. Also:

  • registration of changes to the charters of credit institutions (4 issues);
  • re-registration of licenses issued to microfinance organizations (1 issue);
  • registration of microfinance organizations in the register (3 issues);
  • issues related to reviewing the candidates for members of the supervisory board and management, as well as key employees of commercial banks (8 issues) were reviewed.

Penalty sanctions were applied to 7 banks and 2 microfinance organizations for violations identified during the research and inspection conducted by the Central Bank. 

Moreover, 2 payment organizations and 2 payment system operators were warned about measures and sanctions due to non-compliance with the requirements for the minimum amount and legal form of the charter capital of payment system operators and payment organizations, and errors in organizing security and safeguarding of information in automated banking systems in 4 commercial banks.
