On November 12, within the framework of the COP29 summit held in the city of Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso. The President's press service reported this.

The practical aspects of expanding comprehensive cooperation with this prestigious international financial institution were discussed.

The fact that the bank's investments in our country have exceeded 5 billion euros was noted with particular satisfaction. With this indicator, Uzbekistan is considered the bank's largest partner in our region.

With the active participation of EBRD, measures for privatizing the banking sector are being implemented, and the regulatory and legal framework in the field of investments and land use is being improved.

The head of our state paid special attention to the issues of improving the quality and efficiency of project preparation.

The importance of implementing and further enriching the cooperation strategy between Uzbekistan and the EBRD was emphasized. Energy efficiency, support for small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurship among women and youth, implementation of public-private partnership mechanisms in the social sector and infrastructure, as well as the development of "green" cities were identified as priority directions of cooperation.

Next year's preparation and holding of the Foreign Investors' Council's next meeting were also discussed.
