President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on November 15 to discuss continuous provision of energy to the population and economic sectors, and to increase efficiency in the sector's enterprises. The President's press service reported this.
Tasks were set during the video selector meeting that took place on June 10 in this regard. The officials provided information on the work carried out to date and the preparations for the autumn-winter season.
As noted, gas is being supplied in volumes that meet the growing demands of the population and economic sectors. The modernization of networks and increasing energy efficiency in the economy are resulting in a reduction of losses. For example, in recent years, the gas consumption for the production of industrial goods has decreased by 1.6 times.
There are still many tasks ahead. It is necessary to prepare sufficient reserves for providing the population with stable energy sources in the current season and the coming years.
These issues were discussed by sectors at the meeting.
This winter season, it has been calculated to supply consumers with 21 billion cubic meters of gas. If the air temperature drops sharply, the needs of the population will increase further. Officials detailed these plans by month and by districts.
Separate reserves have been considered for providing social institutions and enterprises with uninterrupted energy. A system for targeted delivery of this natural gas to thermal power plants, chemical and metallurgical enterprises, and gas filling stations has been organized.
It was emphasized that ongoing efforts in gas accounting and control could further reduce losses. The task was set to implement the identified opportunities for saving gas in Andijan, Navoiy, and Tashkent regions in other areas as well.
The head of our state instructed officials to organize work at the district and neighborhood levels, resolve issues related to energy supply on the spot, coordinate demand and consumption, and prevent interruptions.
The meeting also touched upon the transformation processes in the gas sector. It was designated that sector enterprises should enter the international financial market independently to attract funds for modernization.
The greatest opportunity in renovating and regulating gas networks is digitization and private partnership. From this perspective, proposals for involving private operators in the network were considered.
The President gave instructions to reduce costs, optimize expenses, and accelerate the transformation process for each sector and its enterprises. The importance of involving leading foreign companies to expand geological exploration works was mentioned.
