Chinese officials are considering the possibility of selling TikTok's US operations to Elon Musk as a countermeasure against a potential ban of the app's activities in the US, Bloomberg agency reported.
According to the information, Beijing prefers TikTok to remain under the control of ByteDance. However, the US Supreme Court may support a law demanding the suspension of TikTok's operations or its sale by January 19. In this case, Chinese officials are discussing the possibility of controlling TikTok's US activities through Elon Musk's X (formerly Twitter) platform.
A TikTok representative called these reports "complete fiction." At the same time, with Donald Trump's election as president, he asked the Supreme Court to delay the ban after taking office on January 20, in order to resolve this issue politically.
It is worth mentioning that TikTok has over 170 million users in the US, and its US division is valued at $40-50 billion.
