A video spread on social networks claims that a woman from Bukhara passed away during childbirth. The man's address blames the medical staff's negligence for the incident.
The Bukhara regional health department responds to the process as follows here.
The deceased, Zaynabbonu Ochilova Hamrozhon qizi, was born in 1992 in the Qorako‘l district.
She was admitted to the Bukhara branch of RIO and BSIATM (Perinatal Center) at 21:50 on December 12, 2024. At that time, she exhibited symptoms of a severe cold: cough, body temperature rising up to 38*C, leakage of amniotic fluids, and general weakness.
The patient's pregnancy was complicated by anemia. She underwent surgery for a liver echinococcosis diagnosis during the 14th week of pregnancy (14.06.2024).
It is noted that all necessary clinical laboratory and instrumental examinations were conducted. Consultations with the required specialists (pulmonologists, therapists) were held.
Subsequently, based on a consilium by specialists, Z. Ochilova was prescribed necessary treatment according to standards, and observation continued. The childbirth was conducted based on national standards, and there was no indication for surgical delivery.
On December 13, a rise in body temperature up to 38 degrees was observed. Necessary medications were prescribed. After the agreed-upon medical consilium, consultations with specialist pulmonologists and a surgeon were arranged.
That day, at 12:30, regular labor pains began, and by 14:25, the labor intensified. After the birth of a daughter weighing 4.1 kg, the woman lost 250ml of blood and exhibited signs of uterine hypotonia. At this time, the woman's condition suddenly deteriorated, showing symptoms of respiratory distress. The skin became pale and cyanosis appeared.
Specially trained reanimatologists and necessary specialists were immediately called.
The patient was connected to a ventilator and intensive resuscitation measures began. Cardiac fibrillation was detected on the cardiometer. Necessary drugs were used to restore heart activity and prevent fibrillation. Pulse was not detected in the periphery. Defibrillation and direct cardiac massage were performed to restore heart activity.
At 15:05 the patient's condition worsened, respiratory distress increased, and skin cyanosis intensified. However, after 40 minutes of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation efforts, heart activity was not restored. The woman's biological death was recorded at 15:15 that very day.
The deceased underwent forensic medical examination, which confirmed the cause of death as amniotic fluid embolism.
In relation to the case, an internal investigation was conducted with the participation of professors-specialists from the Bukhara State Medical Institute and a detailed discussion was held with the participation of specialists from the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center of Mother and Child Health.
Employees who made mistakes and oversights in medical documentation - the head of the center's second maternity unit, S. Rabiev, and the treating obstetrician-gynecologist, Z. Musinov, were fined 30 percent of their average monthly salary and rotated to other departments.
