Senior doctor Ravshanbek Umarov provided detailed answers to these questions here.

 — Inflammation of the bronchi (bronchitis) is the most common disease of the upper respiratory tract, — the specialist says. — It is distinguished between acute and chronic types.

Changes in the weather, weakening of the immune system, indulgence in bad habits (alcoholism, smoking), and inhalation of various harmful substances (gas, dust, strong essential oils) can damage the throat, pharynx, or trachea and spread toward the lungs. As a result, bronchitis and pneumonia occur.

In the acute form of the disease, the patient feels weak, muscles ache. Cough appears. The chest area feels tight and painful. After a while, a cold may also develop, and in some cases, the body temperature might rise.

Furthermore, the patient constantly suffers from a cough, with purulent mixed sputum being expelled. If bronchitis is not completely cured, the disease lingers, turning into a chronic form and leaving behind severe complications.

Mostly, diseases such as sinusitis, otitis, and pneumonia occur as a consequence of recurrent bronchitis. Patients with serious cardiovascular issues and weakened strength suffer damage to the smaller bronchi due to bronchitis.

As the disease progresses, the patient's fever becomes high, breath is short, and they gasp. Also, lips turn blue, frequently coughing, completely exhausted. Purulent sputum is expelled, and they feel pain in their chest. Even, fine wet or dry rales can be heard in their lungs.

Furthermore, breathing becomes difficult, pulse rate increases, and heart sounds become muffled. Even, the walls of the bronchi and surrounding tissues are damaged. At such times, it is essential to hospitalize patients immediately.
