It might become permissible in Uzbekistan to take into account car dealership discounts when issuing loans by banks. This was announced during a meeting led by Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As noted, many car dealerships offer discounts if the purchase price is paid in full. However, according to current rules, banks do not accept these discounts for cars purchased on credit. Meanwhile, allowing banks to accept these discounts would reduce the credit rate by 4 percent.
For example, if a car costs 100 million Uzbek som. If the buyer pays the full amount at once, the dealership might offer a discount of 10 million som, reducing the price of the car to 90 million som. However, if the buyer opts for a car loan, the bank does not accept this discount and calculates the credit based on the full price – 100 million som.
The importance of abolishing this restriction for local cars was emphasized.
