On February 17, the Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis made a decision at its next meeting to convene the fourth plenary session of the Senate on February 20, 2025. This was reported by the Senate Press Service.
It is noted that senators plan to review laws aimed at ensuring the freedom of conscience of citizens and approving the concept of state policy in the religious sphere, financial support for entrepreneurship entities, further improvement of credit information exchange, tax administration, land use, construction regulations, matters related to the donor movement, and support for families and women.
In particular, the Law "On Introducing Changes and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of Uzbekistan due to the Improvement of the Financial Support System for Entrepreneurial Entities" aims to expand the opportunities for entrepreneurial entities to use financial services, introduce effective means of financing business, and create a contemporary legal basis for financing through factoring, which involves waiving a monetary demand in favor of another person.
Furthermore, the law regulating the exchange of credit information provides the opportunity to protect the population from fraud crimes in the credit sector and to eliminate the situations of credit being formalized in their names without their knowledge and online credit funds being withdrawn remotely.
The law related to the use of land plots aims to create a solid legal basis for the protection of cultural leisure places and other green areas, to preserve their territories, to increase the responsibility of officials, to ensure the relations between land and urban planning legislation during the land use process, and to improve the efficiency of supervision over the purpose of land use.
Additionally, the plenary session’s agenda includes laws related to the judiciary, the rights of prisoners during their sentence, and services for the collection and removal of waste.
Moreover, the fourth plenary session will review laws reflecting the issues of ratifying and joining various international documents. Alongside this, the issue of changing the boundaries of Samarkand city, Samarkand, and Okdaryo districts in Samarkand region will also be discussed.
