According to the court decision, İmamoğlu, who is accused of corruption, will be kept in jail until the end of the legal proceedings, writes CNN Türk.
"This decision is a disgrace to our judicial system," said Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş, commenting on the situation.
In the investigation, 100 suspects are facing charges such as leading a criminal organization, membership in it, corruption, bribery, fraud, illegally obtaining personal information, and corrupt interference in auctions.
On March 22, during the protests in Istanbul and other cities of Turkey, 323 people were arrested, according to the information provided by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya. The police also used water cannons and tear gas.
