Russian and US officials held "complex, but beneficial" negotiations in Riyadh regarding Ukraine.

This 12-hour long negotiation was one of the longest meetings since the diplomatic dialogue was resumed in February, paying close attention to the sentence delivery and punctuation marks.

Russian and US officials held "complex, but beneficial" negotiations in Riyadh on Ukraine. 

Russian and US delegations conducted a "detailed and complex, but very beneficial" meeting in Riyadh on Monday, dedicated to the conflict in Ukraine and security issues. This was announced on Tuesday by one of the leaders of the Russian delegation, Grigory Karasin here.

It is noted that these negotiations, which lasted for 12 hours, were among the longest meetings since the restoration of diplomatic dialogue in February.

According to Karasin, the negotiations were conducted in a constructive spirit and important issues were discussed. 

"The conversation was detailed and complex, but it was very beneficial for both of us, and for the Americans," – he told the Russian press. 

"Many problems were discussed. Of course, not everything was resolved, agreements were not reached on all issues, but such a dialogue itself was very relevant. Especially considering the participation of new members of the new administration and expert groups," – Karasin added.

According to the information, the parties have agreed on a joint statement, and this statement is expected to be announced by the Kremlin and the White House soon.

The Russian delegation included the advisor to the director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Sergey Beseda. From the US side, the Director of the Political Planning Department of the State Department Michael Anton, members of the National Security Council from the White House Andrew Peek, assistants to Donald Trump's special envoy on Ukraine Keith Kellogg, and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz participated.

Before the negotiations, Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov indicated that following a recent phone call between Trump and Putin, the issue of reinstating the Black Sea grain initiative would also be discussed.
